A Texas Main Street City
The City of Post became a Main Street through designation of the Texas Historical Commission in 1987 and is currently celebrating their 20th consecutive year with the program. Since the beginning of Main Street in Post, many buildings have been restored to their original historic architecture and a street project was done to make Post look like the original Main Street when Post was founded in 1907.
Post was one of the first towns in West Texas to be a part of the Main Street Program and has led the way for many communities in West Texas and the South Plains.
We invite you to visit Post and see what a difference revitalization of a historic district can accomplish. It breathes life and pride back into your downtown and is inviting for new businesses and incentive for existing businesses.
